sE Electronics is our second company today that will be debuting a new microphone at NAMM, and just couldn’t wait to share it with you. Honestly, we don’t mind either, after anticipating some great new products for over a month now. A continuation of the sE2200 microphone family was recently announced, known as the sE2200a II. The sE2200a II, supersedes the original sE2200a which was released in 2004 as a cardioid condenser microphone.
“The stylish looking microphone also utilizes its rubber finish as a way to reduce resonance issues.”
The biggest change for this rejuvenated microphone (now in a sleek black finish) is the introduction of a new, multi-pattern capsule. This new 1″ capsule allows users to record in a figure-8 or omnidirectional pattern, in addition to the cardioid pattern the line is known for. The stylish looking microphone also utilizes its rubber finish as a way to reduce resonance issues. Overall, the sE2200a II is looking like a more universally applicable microphone, including features requested by those who use it most.
“When Can I Get It?”
At launch in late January, the sE2200a II Multi-Pattern will ship with a FREE brand new, stylish black rubberized shock mount (matching the sE2200a MK2 microphone finish) and a FREE black sE Metal Pop which mounts conveniently on the shock mount, or can be removed for convenient instrument mic’ing.
Win one on Google+! Currently sE is running a contest using their Google+ page in which they will draw 4 winners spread out over several follower milestones. The prizes include an X1, a Project Reflexion Filter/X1 bundle, a Reflection Filter Pro, and of course, an sE2200a II.
